» Why is my blog content appearing on Dreamwidth?

If your blog content is appearing on Dreamwidth in an account with "_feed" at the end of the account name and an icon in front of it that looks like [syndicated profile], it is not someone copying your blog content. Dreamwidth acts as a syndicated feed reader, such as Google Reader, allowing Dreamwidth users to view the content but not storing it permanently on Dreamwidth's servers. This allows people to be notified of updates to your site, instead of bookmarking it and having to remember to visit it every day.

You can control the amount of your blog content that is published via RSS. For instance, you can set it so that people using feedreaders can only see the title of your post and a link back to your site, so they will see the update notice but have to visit your site for the content.

Syndicated feed accounts are only visible to logged-in users, and the contents of feed accounts are only stored for 14 days.
